Product Overview

This beautiful book is a biography and a picture gallery of "the Dean of Indian painters", George Catlin. This large format photo book has 36 full-color reproductions, and over 130 photos in black and white.

Printed in 1959, this is a well-researched and indexed book. This first edition features a foreword by the author Harold McCracken.

This book is very good condition. There are no interior markings, and no inscriptions or book plates. The dust jacket is good. There is some sun fading on the spine, and a small tear on the back top of the dust jacket near the spine. The cloth boards are clean. The pages are clean, very little to no foxing or staining.
