This classic tale, Hans Brinker or The Silver Skates by Mary Mapes Dodge tells the story of yound Hans Brinker, as he competes in a skating contest, and nicely showcases life in Holland at the turn of the 20th century.
This book is not dated by the publisher, but is signed as a gift and dated 1923. It is in decent condition for its age; spine is loose but pages are all intact. Interior pages and book block are stained due to age. The outside is a blue cloth cover with an illustration of the title character on the front board. There are no pictures throughout the text, just one illustration that faces the title page. It would look great as a display piece on your antiquarian shelf.
