Product Overview
Hillsway's Who's Who: Favorite Recipes of Famous People and Personalities (Including Biographies) is an interesting view into the Who's Who of Minnesota, Las Vegas, California, and beyond. An interesting cross section of localities, but representative of author Roland L. Hill's sphere of friends. There are some bona-fide celebrities represented here: Pearl Bailey, Colonel Sanders, Dear Abby, Walter Mondale, Liberace, President Jimmy Carter, President John F. Kennedy, Elvis Presley, and more - extremely recognizable names in 1978. Most of the "personalities" are local community leaders and friends of the author. There is a brief biography of each individual plus one recipe that they have contributed. If you're into the vintage cooking trend, this is a great book to start with! This would also be a terrific book for historians interested in this period of time in and around Minneaoplis, Las Vegas, Florida, and Southern California.
This book is in excellent shape for its age. Brief pencil marking in the back cover - a note about visiting a location described in the book, which also has a pencil parking the page. Otherwise the pages are crisp and not bent, the spine is tight, and there is only mild discoloration due to age.
