Product Overview

Katrinka: The Story Of A Russian Child is a heart-wrenching tale of a young girl's struggles in war-torn Russia. Written by Helen Eggleston Haskell, the book follows the life of Katrinka, a young girl who is orphaned during the Russian Revolution. Forced to flee her home and live on the streets, Katrinka must learn to survive in a world filled with danger and uncertainty. As she grows older, Katrinka is taken in by a kind family who helps her to rebuild her life. However, her newfound happiness is short-lived as World War II breaks out, and Katrinka is once again forced to flee her home. This time, she must leave behind everything she has ever known and embark on a perilous journey across Europe to find safety.Throughout the book, Haskell masterfully weaves together themes of love, loss, and resilience, as she tells the story of a young girl's unbreakable spirit in the face of adversity. Katrinka: The Story Of A Russian Child is a poignant and powerful tale that will stay with readers long after they have turned the final page.

This antiquarian book is acceptable condition. Ex-library copy, it has all of the hallmarks of its library past: call letters inscribed inside, and on the spine, slip pocket for checkout card (with the card intact), etc. The cloth boards show wear and age. No dust jacket. It appears at one point glue or some similar substance was brushed over the spine. It is still a pretty little book and a great bit of literary history.
