Product Overview
John Ruskin, a major British art critic, writer and thinker of the nineteenth century, wrote one story for children. It alone would have guaranteed his immortality. The King of the Golden River is the tale of guileless Gluck, his two hardhearted brothers, and the mysterious visitor who changes all their lives. It is here brilliantly interpreted by Krystyna Turska, winner of the 1972 Kate Greenway Medal. Ruskin's characters and landscapes come alive in her paintings, and the warmth of her feelings for this great story is evident in every picture.
