Product Overview
This is a lovely copy of The Pilgrim's Progress written by John Bunyan and published in 1890. The book is remarkable for its age. This Frank F. Lovell Aldine Edition has a cloth cover, formerly gilt but the color has rubbed away. You can still see fine detail in the embossing on the cover. The spine is in very good shape and there are no torn or missing pages. All pages are attached to their signatures, with the exception of the front flyleaf which is half attached. The previous owner has drawn a figure and a quote on the front flyleaf, an interesting bit of ownership history. There is also a bit of ephemera tucked in the pages - a note presumably inspired by the reading.
There are no other interior markings. Page darkening due to age, and some staining on the page block. The pages are somewhat brittle due to age, but still have some flexibility to them. The title page is tearing away from the block at the spine. The back of the book features a list of Worthington's International Library titles.
