Product Overview

The Wanton Way is a dramatic novel of character and emotion, set in London, Berlin, and the Riviera.

Book is in acceptable condition. The endpapers are stamped with the name of the bookseller, Hofman Drug Co. in Ottumwa, Iowa.

There is no dust cover, although the folded edge of the original dust cover is glued to the inside board. The green cloth covers are stained and have some rubbing and tearing. Otherwise, there are no other interior markings and the pages are securely attached to the spine. Originally published in London, this book can also be found under the title Wanton Ways.

Published in 1931, The Wanton Way is ahead of its time, writer Norah C James wrote about post-war souls trying to find their place in the world. Her first book was deemed "obscene" for its "‘excessive' use of 'bad language’. This is a piece of history and trailblazing writing.
